Event Description:
Portions of 9th Street from Lincoln Avenue to Dakota Avenue will be closed every day during the month of April, 2012. The street will be milled down to make it flatter and smoother. The drawback to the milling will be some manhole covers could be slightly above the road surface. Trees within the three feet expansion area will be removed. Below is the estimated timeline for the project:
4/3/12 - Construction will begin on 9th Street. Storm Inlet relocation will begin on 9th (starting at Lincoln and working east). Traffic will be blocked off 2-3 blocks at a time.
4/4/12 - 9th Street will be closed from Ohio to Nebraska (area in front of what used to be the girls dorm) for storm sewer installation.
4/4/12 - Tree removal on 9th Street will begin on Wednesday (starting at Lincoln and working east). A block or 2 will be closed at all times for tree removal.
4/6/12 or 4/9/12 – Curb and gutter removal will begin (starting at Lincoln and working west). Will block off traffic approximately 3 blocks at a time.
