- CALL TO ORDER
- Approve the minutes of April 24, 2013.
- Approval of the Parks & Recreation Bills.
- Approval of the Parks & Recreation Agenda.
- Old Business
- Review the request of Molly Lamont concerning family passes and if any full scholarships for Splash Central season passes have been received. Update of season pass numbers. Action needed: Based on agreement of the board.
- Update on opening and construction progress of Splash Central. Action needed: None, board members are invited to all activities.
- Mention the park maintenance position II was filled and duties of the employee that started on May 6, 2013. Action needed: None, job experience should help formation of Central Park and the Campus Center maintenance and development.
- Mention the Ravine Lake area and Putters & Scoops should be opening on May 11. Action needed: None, island and trail repairs are needed.
- Discuss Community Improvement Committee projects for 2013. Action needed: Based on funding available.
- New Business
- Mention the Huron Softball Assn. meeting and items of discussion including a new concession building at Kunhart Softball Complex and request of a playground at Mt. Dew Diamonds. Action needed: None, based on softball development funds and association funds availability.
- Review Huron Community Foundation grants and application from the department. Action needed: Motion to accept the award of $2,000.00 for Ravine Lake area development.
- Review the request of Huron Baseball Assn. for a new sign at Memorial Baseball Park. Action needed: Based on cost and size of sign.
- Update on the college summer baseball league for the 2014 season. Action needed: Review sample lease as presented.
- Mention meeting with a disc golf (Frisbee) group to enhance or add to the existing course at Memorial Park. Action needed: Motion to bring to the capital outlay budget request for 2014.
- Report on Huron Garden Club plans for Winter Park and tree pruning around the water tower there. Action needed: None, irrigation of the park should continue through the process.
- Mention improvements for West Tower Park as provided by the Huron Class of 1962. Action needed: None, consider irrigation work on this park for the season.
